Notes on hope
An argument for the small, stubborn work of imagining a better future.
By Elias Reed·September 27, 2026·5 min read

Hope is not a guarantee. It is a decision to stay curious about what might change.
The most useful kind of hope makes room for difficulty without surrendering to it. It asks us to look closely at the present and then to work, together, toward something more generous.
Trust grows in the same way: slowly, through gestures made and kept.
“Hope and trust are our greatest assets.”
